Presidents Message: 3/4/15

This week I’m writing my presidents message for our new members, to help guide them in learning more about this great organization you have joined. On the list of items you must accomplish to move from your Temporary Red Badge to the Blue one like the rest of us ware is a Fireside Chat. This is a social event at some ones house where you get to know the other club members better and also are exposed to some Rotary information. As of now we have 4-6 members who have not attended this event so we will be arranging one very soon.
Another great event to learn a lot about Rotary is to attend a District 5300 Assembly which is coming up on April 11th. This event is being held at the Oak Hill High School which is in Oak Hill/Hesperia, California, which is just over a 3 hour drive. During the registration which is from 8:00-9:00 AM there will be a continental breakfast also lunch will be provided. There will be several different training sessions that you can attend on various Rotary topics, but it is on a first come first serve basis. All the training and the food is included to you free of charge, our club pays an annual training fee to the district. The more you know about Rotary and all it does the better equipped you are to provide service to those in need. We have 4 members who will be attending the assembly as of now but we can have as many as we like at the event, so please plan to attend if you can. You will find it time well spent!
By joining our Rotary club you have basically said I want to give back to my community and become involved with likeminded people and our community leaders, so ask what can do and how can I help. The sooner you get involved the sooner you become a Rotarian rather than just a member of our Rotary club.
