Presidents Message: February 26th., 2014

After returning from “PETS” President Elect Training Seminar again I have some new ideas and outlook on various things. I will be sharing two of them with you today and the rest of them in the coming month as we prepare for the new Rotary year. The first item is prior to the New Year Rotary I will Post a list of Goals I would like the club to accomplish in the 2014-2015 period, this way we will all know where we are going and if we get there. This is a two Way Street I can see how much effort the club members are contributing and I can be rated on how well we accomplish the goals that were set. My second one is to look for more hands on projects to give you our members more ways and chances to in our community. Writing checks is OK, but we need to get closer to the community we serve from time to time so we can get that feel good feeling you get when you see how you have helped someone in our local community.

Last week’s meeting was bitter sweet in having to say good-by to Toby O’Brien, I know she will stay in Rotary up in Oregon, because Toby is not just a Rotary member she is a Rotarian, she believed in the “Service above Self” Our loss is another clubs gain.

Just a reminder to my Board of directors please plans on attending the District Assembly training session on Saturday morning April 5th at the Victor Valley Collage in Victorville, California. We will leave my house at 5:30 AM which will get us their between 8:00 and 8:30 AM and the training starts at 9:00 AM and runs till 2:30 PM I believe. As of now Dave Evans & Florence Rogers are riding with me and Freda and Michael Brazier are driving themselves. So with that said I have room for one or two more people in my car who are on my board. They are having many breakout sessions for training various board positions so it should be interesting and worthwhile attending, so let me know.
